Council members will be able to share ideas about how Ohio’s families and schools can work together to support the education of all children. In the council’s first year, members will help develop a new Family Engagement Framework that can guide schools’ efforts to involve families.

The Ohio’s Statewide Family Engagement Center Advisory Council will be made up of family member representatives, high school student representatives, school administrators, teachers and other education professionals and leaders, along with representatives from businesses and community agencies.

Council members will be expected to participate in council discussions and activities for at least one calendar year, including attending meetings in Columbus four times between January and October 2019. Lunch and parking will be provided. Parent, guardian and caretaker members will receive a stipend of $60 per meeting and receive reimbursement for mileage to and from meetings. Language interpreters and other supports will be available at council meetings, if needed.
