October Newsletter

Jefferson County JVS - 2025

Ms. Hoover; Principal

From the Desk of Principal Hoover

The purpose of this newsletter is to share information about the JVS

Dear Parents and Guardians,

As we move through October, we are excited to celebrate the positive energy and dedication of both our students and staff. This year is moving quickly, and our students are engaging in a variety of hands-on learning opportunities that bring their studies to life, from lab work and projects, that have real-world applications.

Equally important, is our focus on strong academics. We want to ensure that every student is building the skills and knowledge they need to succeed, both now and in the future. The combination of hands-on experiences and academic excellence is what makes our learning community vibrant and dynamic.

We are so proud of the effort, enthusiasm, and collaboration that our students bring to our school each day!

Thank you for your continued support as we work together to prepare our students for the next steps in their education and beyond. With your partnership, we can help every student grow, achieve, and thrive throughout the year and into the future.

Sincerely,

Heather A. Hoover

Car Show 25'

Auto Service Holds Car Show

Mr. Reasoner and our auto service students hosted a car show at the JVS. This event marked the first of many events celebrating our 50th anniversary. This show not only highlighted some incredible vehicles and brought the community out for the day, but also served as a fundraiser to support an upcoming field trip for the students. We are so ready to celebrate five decades of skills and innovation at the JVS.

Team Period on Workshop Wednesdays

Team Period – A Time for Growth and Support
Every Wednesday afternoon, students have the opportunity to participate in Team Period, a dedicated time to connect with teachers. During this time, students can:

  • Complete missing assignments and catch up on work
  • Receive additional academic support
  • Explore new projects or learning experiences

Parents, please note that students should remain in school for the full Wednesday afternoon. Early dismissals should be avoided, as Team Period is an essential part of their learning and growth.

Team Period is designed to give every student the support and opportunities they need to succeed.

For students who do not need to meet with a teacher, Team Period offers the chance to:

  • Engage in hands-on lab experiences
  • Attend presentations from scheduled guest speakers

Parent / Teacher Conferences

We look forward to welcoming parents and guardians for Parent-Teacher Conferences on Wednesday, October 1. This is a great opportunity to:
  • Discuss your student’s progress
  • Ask questions about classroom learning and experiences

Dress for Success!
In Career and Technical Education, every detail matters—including how we present ourselves. Just as in the workplace, proper dress in our labs and classrooms is an important part of training. By practicing professional appearance now, students are building habits that will serve them well in their future careers. Thank you for supporting your student in meeting these expectations each day.
