A Message From Mr. Gorman

Message from the Superintendent

Ted GormanTo Our Students, Parents, and Community Members,

As the new superintendent of the Jefferson County Joint Vocational School, I’m excited to welcome you to a school dedicated to preparing students for successful futures—whether that’s in a skilled trade, technical field, or through college pathways.

This year marks a special milestone as we celebrate the 50th anniversary of JCJVS. For five decades, this school has provided students across Jefferson County with meaningful career and technical education, and we’re proud to continue that tradition with even more opportunities ahead.

At JCJVS, our staff and instructors are committed to helping every student build real-world skills through hands-on training, strong academics, and leadership experiences. With the support of parents and the community, we aim to guide students as they grow into responsible, career-ready young adults.

Students benefit from a variety of learning experiences—career-technical training, College Credit Plus courses, credentialing opportunities, and skill-based competitions that can take them across the state and even the nation. They also stay connected to their home schools for activities like clubs, sports, and band, while engaging in leadership and personal development right here at JVS.

We partner closely with local employers to keep our programs aligned with the needs of today’s workforce. These strong industry relationships help ensure our students graduate with the tools, credentials, and confidence they need to succeed.

I’m proud to lead this next chapter at JCJVS, and I’m grateful for the continued support from our Board of Education, staff, and community. Together, we’ll continue to give students the best in 21st-century education and celebrate a proud 50-year legacy of excellence.

Sincerely,
Mr. Ted Gorman
Superintendent
