Welcome Back

Principal Hoover

From the Desk of Principal Hoover

The purpose of this monthly newsletter is to share information regarding the Jefferson County JVS.

Dear JVS Families,

Welcome to the 2026-2027 school year at Jefferson County Joint Vocational School!

August is here, and our halls are once again coming to life as we prepare to welcome our incoming juniors and our returning seniors for another exciting year of learning, growth, and opportunity.

At the JVS, we know that choosing a career pathway is an important step in your student's future. We want our students and families to know that we are here to support you in this incredible journey.

Our entire staff is committed to guiding each student every step of the way, encouraging them to discover their strengths, develop their skills, and reach their goals both inside and outside of the classroom.

This year, we are excited to welcome students back to campus with returning programs, new opportunities, and continued growth throughout our career-technical education offerings. We are also thrilled to welcome new members to our JVS team while celebrating the dedicated educators and staff members who continue to make a difference in the lives of our students each day.

One of the greatest strengths of career-technical education is the opportunity for students to learn by doing. Throughout their time at JVS, students will gain hands-on experience, build professional and academic skills, earn industry-recognized credentials, and participate in experiences that prepare them for success after graduation. Whether their next step is entering the workforce, continuing their education, or pursuing advanced training, our goal is to ensure every student leaves the JVS prepared, confident, and future-ready.

Communication and partnership with our families are essential to student success. Each month our JVS Newsletter will be published to keep students, parents, and families informed about important dates, upcoming events, student achievements, program highlights, and the many exciting things happening throughout our building.

We hope this newsletter becomes a resource that helps you stay connected and celebrate the incredible work happening at JVS.

Thank you for trusting us with your student's education and future. We are honored to be part of their journey, and we cannot wait to see all that our students will accomplish this year.

So welcome back, JVS and let's make this an amazing year!

Why Uniforms? Because Professionalism Begins Here.

Career Technical Education is about more than preparing students for their next step, it is about preparing them for the expectations of the professional world.

At the JVS, our students spend each day developing real-world skills, working with industry-standard equipment, and learning from instructors who prepare them for careers beyond high school. Adding uniforms to our school culture is another step toward building those professional habits.

Uniforms promote pride, consistency, and a strong sense of belonging. They remind our students that when they walk through our doors, they are not just students, they are future technicians, healthcare professionals, entrepreneurs, skilled tradespeople, and leaders.

As we implement this new policy, students are expected to be in uniform each day. We are proud of who our students are becoming, and are excited to continue building a culture where students look, feel, and act like professionals.

From the classroom to the workplace, first impressions matter. At the JVS, we are Preparing Today for Professionals Tomorrow
